Welcome! Land became available in Georgia in the late 1700's and many of the white settlers, including some members of the Allred family, who left North Carolina during that time period came to Georgia to live. Some stayed only a short while, some remained and have descendants still living on original family land today. John Allred (abt 1775 - bef 1860) was one of those early settlers. Many of his descendants now live in Floyd, Polk, Haralson, and surrounding counties in Georgia, and Cherokee County, Alabama. John is one of our mystery Allreds. No one has been able to figure out who his parents were - but many are working on it. John was my ancestor. Elias Allred (1758 - 1840), son of the "original" Thomas was another of those early settlers. Land records show he settled in Hall County, GA in 1836. Many of his descendants can be found nearby today in Hall, Pickens, Cherokee and other surrounding counties. Jonathan Allred (1758-1822), son of the "original" Solomon was another early settler. Jonathan's will was proven in open court July 1, 1822 in Clarke County, Georgia. These are 3 examples of the rich Georgia Allred histories that, with the help of cousins, I have been collecting.
